Sugar Cookies Past

We were woken last night with a large crash from the kitchen. JJ Stinkerbuster must have been trying to help himself to the un-iced sugar cookies and had sent the cooling racks tumbling off the counter. Only one cookie survived unbroken. Jeff got out the dustpan while I tried not to cry.

Which is my excuse for sharing pictures that Jenny took 2 years ago.

I have no excuse for not sharing these at the time, though.

Kenzie, our oldest daughter (18!), is the one who reminded me that we needed to make and decorate sugar cookies this year. I love that this is something they ask to do every single year. And even though it takes some time (I always bake the cookies on a different day than we ice them), it is always worth the effort, even when naughty kitties interfere with my plans.

  1. I love your cookies! What kind of frosting do you use? Mine is never runny enough to squeeze out of a bottle. Btw, what kind of bottle is that?

thanks-kitties are cute but they definitely have their own adgenda!

  2. Thanks, Laura. I've used a couple different recipes over the years. I'll get some more info about this process up soon!

  3. Damn naughty kitty cat! Bastid!

Okay, well, I bet the cookies would make a really nice crust for a pie or cheesecake or something! Or just for eating with tea. :) So sorry, Wendy.

I really liked seeing the pics of the previous years' cookies, though.

So glad you decided to leave a message! Feel free to talk about yourself and don't worry if you tend to leave marathon comments. I don't mind. In fact, those are my favorite kind.

Finally, feel free to type your website address within your comment because one of these days I will be moving my blog and would like to retain links to all of you wonderful people (the blogger formatting of commenter links doesn't get transferred properly).

Cheers.
