Joey's Sketch Notebook

It seems like every time that Michael's has their 40% off sale on drawing pads, I stock up.

Joey likes filling hers up with great sketches on the inside. But she's also done a stellar job on the outside.

The notebook had the pencils on there originally, but she drew all the little trolls herself. I especially like how the H in the word 'Sketch' is in the process of being completed.

The perspective of this little guy struggling to work the giant pencil cracks me up as well.

And then there's the guy on the right who seems to be directing the entire operation. But I don't think he likes what he's seeing.

  1. So, we have another arteest in the family! Let's see...Jenny and Brett with drawing, Matthew with words, but I don't know if he has drawing skills as well. Who else? Kenny and David with music, Corey/David/Kenny with woodworking, Teri and Patty quilt, Sandy sewed. Hmmm...wish I had some of these genes in me!

  4. Linda (Wander), I've got some more... Jenny with photography; Grandpa Windes with woodworking (esp turning); Grandpa Gay with jewelry; Grandma Gay with ceramics; Alice with sewing too; my other uncle Dave did candy; Melody, Memaw and our older girls, Randa and Kenzie, with music (flute, piano, bass and viola respectively); and don't forget Richard who is an actual paid artist (the best kind)! In fact, in preparation for my new blog on wordpress, I've done up some info about how DIY inclined our family is.

  5. Ha! Love it. Especially the little one holding the giant pencil. So much creativity in her she couldn't keep it on the pages!

  7. Fantastic sketching! How creative is that?! (Especially that partially-completed H. That rocks!) Looks like Joey comes by it honestly. :)

I have read back a few posts (it has been a while since I have been here) and each one is just so lovely, as is the new banner with the henna tattoo. Your blog is a joy to look at and read, Wendy. Thank you for posting.

  9. I love this :). As a very beginner draw-er, the creativity behind this is so inspiring.
