I really wish I knew where to find them here and what in the heck they are called in French. I would love to try them! They say you can mix it in salads (they stay kind of crunchy like sesame seeds), drinks or shakes (they get gelatinous with crunchy middle), anything you bake or cook like soups, stews, and yes, oatmeal (not sure what happens with the texture yet).Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11582290227884606635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097748844135258151.post-65097656109330126712010-06-08T19:46:17.437-06:002010-06-08T19:46:17.437-06:00Wander (Linda), they sell them at the health food ...Wander (Linda), they sell them at the health food store. And I only used one tablespoon per drink. Though the official serving size is about 3 tablespoons (I thought I'd start slow to give myself time to adjust to all that fiber... just in case). Also, I'm sure you could stir it into oatmeal.

Arunrith, (Hi, Chula!) I will definitely have to check out the Asian market next time we go. These are totally jelly-ish and, in fact, sort of remind us of those Asian bubble tea drinks. And I like crunching the seed part too!

Anna, I originally had plans to sprout them, but haven't gotten around to it. I bet they'd be fantastic on sandwiches. And the nutritional information that I linked to lists it for the dried seeds, so I'm guessing that it would be OK whole.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17882235346307802213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097748844135258151.post-10132606899341500082010-06-08T17:40:34.921-06:002010-06-08T17:40:34.921-06:00Hey, neat! Do you know if they are nutrients are absorbed adequately when they are whole as opposed to ground up? Just wondering, as I know that can be an issue with flax seeds.Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08160639032946554005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097748844135258151.post-64654989729959350172010-06-08T13:44:15.239-06:002010-06-08T13:44:15.239-06:00Hi Wendy! I remember it being sold in cans in the drink aisle of Asian stores. I haven't had it since probably high school. I remember it had a jelly-ish texture to it and I looooved crunching on the seed portion of it. :) I'm almost pretty sure you can buy them in a decent quantity at Asian grocery stores still.

~ChulaChula Goolahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04031963086916886489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097748844135258151.post-74071265145438638872010-06-08T12:25:44.415-06:002010-06-08T12:25:44.415-06:00Oh, I meant to ask if you could mix it in a food, ...Oh, I meant to ask if you could mix it in a food, like sprinkle it in oatmeal?Wander to the Waysidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14056931538024315352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3097748844135258151.post-72605518857908756712010-06-08T12:25:01.559-06:002010-06-08T12:25:01.559-06:00Where in the world do you get chia seeds in that q...Where in the world do you get chia seeds in that quantity?Wander to the Waysidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14056931538024315352noreply@blogger.com
